January 26, 2024 | Elder Update

Harvest Family,

The elders had our first meeting of 2024 and we would love to share a quick update with our church family.

Campus Ministry Updates
First, we were blessed to receive ministry reports from each of our Campus Pastors. They shared both praises and prayer requests for their campuses. A common theme was just how thankful they are for the many Harvest Bible Chapel (HBC) congregants who are leaning into the life of the church through serving, getting involved, and giving. They shared that they see a vitality and a spirit on the campuses that they are excited about. As a group, we then prayed for all that was shared.

2024 Budget
We also reviewed and approved the 2024 budget. We are thankful for the hours of work and the time in prayer that was spent by staff and our Finance Committee to prepare the 2024 budget. God is using those who are entrusted with these roles in an amazing way as we seek to steward what He has entrusted to us as a church.

The team presented the budget with the expectation of seeing God provide the financial resources needed for this upcoming year in a way that only He can. Will you join us in asking the Lord to increase our faith and provide through His people? We want to see God work through the ministries of HBC and trust that He will make that possible for His glory. More details on this coming soon.

As we look ahead at 2024, we also see this as an opportunity to thank God for how our generous church family came through to finish 2023 strong regarding giving. So much so that we not only met our financial needs for 2023 but had some funds to roll into ministry for 2024. Praise God!

Elder Board Members
As planned, the Elder Board continues to change as faithful men finish their time serving on the board while others are in the process of being selected, trained, and added. January 2024 marked the conclusion of service for both Brian Laird and Darrin Weidman.

Brian Laird has served on the Elder Board and as chairman since 2019. He led the board very faithfully and sacrificially during some of the most challenging times in our church. He had a front-row seat to watch God working through all that HBC has experienced in recent years. We thank God for him and his leadership. As Brian stepped off the Elder Board as Chairman, Kevin Boldog began serving in that role to lead our board.

Darrin Weidman also joined the elder board in 2019. He also served as the Church Treasurer and the chair of the Finance Committee. Darrin has used his giftedness to provide oversight and to move HBC forward in financial stability. He is a man of great faith who often reminds those who serve with him of God’s promises and how He always comes through. With Darrin rolling off of the board, we were pleased to vote for current elder Richard Labib to take Darrin’s place as treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.

Plans are in process to honor Brian and his wife Cheyanne as well as Darrin and his wife Kristy. As a church family, if you know these men and their families, please join us in thanking them for how they have served our church so very well.

Finally, we invite you to continue to pray with us for the people and ministries of Harvest Bible Chapel. This church belongs to the Lord and we need His wisdom, discernment, and vision to lead it forward for His glory.
