Equipping and Empowering More and Better Disciples

Our goal is to preserve and propel the Disciples (Jesus followers) for the work of the ministry through the teaching of sound doctrine (Titus 2:1). We want to encourage each member of Harvest to unpack the depths of God’s doctrines and build our faith in God and His Word.

The main focuses:

1. Equipping and Empowering Disciples

Training for effective ministry is our goal within all our ministries, and Harvest Leadership Development offers courses for our Study Groups across our campuses. We also plan specific events called, Saturday Intensives, to dive into our theological foundations and equip our people to know and love God’s Word.

  • The mission is for each disciple in the church to unpack the depths of God’s doctrines and build our faith in God and His Word. These courses will be taught centrally and/or locally by our pastor theologians and are available for everyone!

2. Equipping and Empowering Future Leaders

Harvest Leadership Development houses three key programs, or Ministry Development Opportunities for lay leaders, students, graduate students and others who are considering or pursuing full-time ministry experience.

  • The mission for each of our interns, apprentices and residents is to go out  of their selected program loving God, His Word, His Church, and His world — equipped to be better ambassadors for Christ, His kingdom, and His world, where ever God leads.

Systematic Theology – Winter Semester

Humanity. Sin. Salvation.
Who are we, especially as male and female? Why has the world gone so wrong?
What has God done (and is doing!) to deliver us, to save us?

We’ll be exploring all these subjects, including looking at the thorny questions that arises from ‘election’ (of the theological kind, not so much the voting booth kind).

Using Wayne Grudem’s Systematic Theology as our text over three Seasons (from Fall to Winter to Spring), we’ll address the topics above this Winter, from January to March, discussing a couple of chapters per week. Sign up, get Grudem’s book (at Amazon or another store), and join the conversation!

Beginning the week of January 10, this class will be taught by Jeff Bucknam and Kyle Meeker, and will be available at three of our campuses:

I Timothy – Men’s Study

First Timothy is a letter to a young leader on how to “fight the good fight” (1 Tim. 6:12) and live in godliness. Join this Men’s study as we dive into the importance of teaching the truth of God’s Word and walking in holiness.

Using the 1 Timothy (LifeChange) study book by The Navigators (available on Amazon), this course is 10 weeks starting Tuesday, January 10 at Rolling Meadows and Saturday, January 14 at North Shore.

Can’t wait to see you there!
