In Harvest Kids, we’re committed to providing an engaging, welcoming, and safe environment for every kid. That means we do our best to help all kids engage in worship, learn biblical truth, and feel successful in the classroom regardless of how they communicate, process, learn, or move. Our goal is to integrate your child into kid-friendly ministry with the right level of assistance.

Some campuses have a dedicated sensory room for kids who need a little extra support. When needed, some kids may also be paired up with a volunteer inside of his/her classroom. Contact the Harvest Kids director at your campus for more information and to find out what options are currently available where you attend.

Please note, that while our goal is to provide accommodations for every child, it may take time for us to partner with you to develop a personalized care plan and to recruit and train volunteers who will work with your child. We appreciate your patience and partnership as we make sure your child can engage in ministry safely and successfully.

FAQs 

What types of classes does Harvest Kids offer? 

Harvest Kids aims to integrate children into general classrooms as much as possible.  

What does my child do in Harvest Kids while I am in the gathering?

Your child will have the opportunity to experience worship, hear a Bible story, pray, have a snack, complete activities, and play with other kids. Their time is designed to be structured, purposeful, and fun. 

My child wears diapers. Will they be changed? 

Children under 3 may have their diaper changed during the gathering. Children 3 and over will have their caregiver paged so their caregiver can assist them. 

Who is caring for my child? 

The leaders in Harvest Kids love children and have been trained for their roles by Harvest staff, but they are not professionals. These people offer their time freely and care for each child to the best of their abilities as members of the Harvest Kids Team. 

What if my child gets sick or hurt while in Harvest Kids? 

Safety is one of our primary priorities, but we know sometimes sickness and accidents happen. If your child appears to be sick, bleeding, or hurt, a Harvest Kids leader will perform basic first aid and will page you immediately. Harvest Kids will not give medication to children unless it is for an emergency such as an EpiPen or inhaler, which must be provided by the parent.

What if my child is having persistent behavioral problems? 

If your child develops a pattern of behaving inappropriately, Harvest Kids staff will set up a meeting with you to discuss the behavior and develop a plan to encourage positive change. 

Harvest Kids may page you out of service if necessary. How will I know I am being paged? 

You will receive a text message letting you know that your child needs you. 

Will my child ever be alone with an adult? 

We stand with you in prioritizing safety and accountability. Your child will never be alone with one adult while in the care of Harvest Kids.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Every time your child enters Harvest Kids, we will love and care for them well. Harvest Kids wants you and your entire family to have an incredible weekend experience, and we are excited to partner with you to help make that happen. To do that, we ask you to partner with us by agreeing that: 

• If I am being paged, I will answer promptly. 
• If my child has any special need or medical concern, I will communicate with the Harvest Kids Staff to develop a support plan for my child.
• I will not bring my child if they are contagious, have had a fever of 100 degrees or higher, or have vomited or had diarrhea within 24 hours before the gathering.
